Butch Cassidy

“Great Contributors: Butch Cassidy Bench” is a lifelike bronze sculpture by Gary Lee Price. As a part of his celebrated Great Contributors series, the piece depicts the famous outlaw sitting in a relaxed, confident pose on a bench, dressed in a vest, trousers, and a hat.

The life-sized version of the interactive monument sits permanently in Heritage Park in downtown Montpelier, Idaho—just two doors down from the historic bank that Cassidy and his gang robbed in 1896, which now serves as the Butch Cassidy Museum. The interactive sculpture is designed to invite park visitors to sit right next to Cassidy on the bench and reflect on Old West folklore.
